'LITTLE BLUE LAKE'
This painting forms part of my Monthly Muse original art release for January, which I began in Tasmania and then completed in my studio in Brisbane.
I made the trip down to Tasmania to co-run an art retreat for Bloom Art Experiences at Enclave, in Winnaleah with my friend and business partner Kate Quinn. After the retreat, we drove all over Tassie, painting, sketching and collating inspiration for a few days, finishing our trip with a visit to MONA in Hobart. It was a perfect art nerd trip!
This particular painting is based off a viewpoint at the Little Blue Lake, outside of Winnaleah. The Enclave team took our Bloom students out here before we completed our paintings on the last day. The colour of the water at this ex-mining site (unfortunately very unswimmable due to the heavy mineral content), really inspired the palette of this whole series.
